SMALL NON-FLYING MAMMALS (RODENTS)
Nuria Bernal
Biologist from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, La Paz, Bolivia, she has a Master's degree in Conservation Biology from Columbia University (USA) and in Ecology from the College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry (CESF) of the State University of New York (SUNY). She was part of the research team of the Bolivian Fauna Collection-National Museum of Natural History, assuming responsibility for the scientific collection of mammals. Since 2010 she is part of the Wildlife Conservation Society team in Bolivia, and is responsible for monitoring the projects implemented by the institution for the management of natural resources and wildlife conservation. Her main area of interest is the ecology and biogeography of small mammals, their historical and present relationship with habitats and with their predators. Nuria was part of the group of researchers who contributed with their work and scientific information in the elaboration of the management plan for Madidi (2005), and she considers herself as one more in love with its landscapes and biodiversity.
